Girls’ Day Out at the Auckland ASB Showgrounds November 20-22nd 2009

Girls’ Day Out is bringing an exciting, fresh and revitalised event to Auckland this November that celebrates all the fabulous reasons for being a woman – and there are many!

The Girls’ Day Out, taking place at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds from November 20 – 22nd, is an event experience with a focus on empowering women. Everything from fashion and beauty, love and lifestyle, health and wellness, money, entertainment, DIY and prizes, this is a day of girlie indulgence not to be missed.

Here are just some of the highlights that Girls’ Day Out visitors can expect to enjoy:

Celebrate being a woman – wear a red dress to the Girls’ Day Out event and be in to win spot prizes. Watch out for the 30 Day Little Red Dress Diaries.

A great showcase of cars, motorbikes, motorsport vehicle and some great prizes will be on offer. Thanks to Suzuki, the driving force behind GDO, who will have special event-only offers.

Girls’ Day Out charity partner is Dress for Success – a global organisation promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women as they enter or return to the workforce. Girls’ Day Out will be attempting a World Record to build the World’s Biggest Wardrobe from donations of clothing, hand bags, shoes and jewellery.

· The Girls’ Day Out team has gathered a spectacular collection of makeover masterminds to transform some lucky visitors. Including New Zealand fashion label Max, skincare expert Bridget Black, jewellery from Secrets Shhh, confidence makeover from Brand-You, hair and make up, the experts will be on hand to transform you.

· The DIY zone is here to prove women really can do anything! Ryobi will arm you with the know-how and confidence to tackle those odd jobs around the house, because time waits for no one! A special Ladies DIY evening will be hosted by Bunnings on Friday the 20th of November at the event.

· Feel like a modern day Cinderella with RoyalT.co.nz, more shoes in one place online than a girl has ever seen, RoyalT.co.nz know how to give women the royal treatment and will have some fabulous competitions and shoes to give away – of course it has to be a perfect fit.

· Take time out and relax in the Brita Better Women Seminar Lounge, where you can listen to an impressive line up of informative speakers. Covering a multitude of topics such as fashion, career, stress, fertility, fitness and more, these inspirational and educational seminars will help you unlock potential in all areas of your life.

· The heart of all the action is at the Nikon Fashion and Entertainment stage! As the name suggests, this stage showcases a spectacular selection of fashion and lively performances to keep you entertained.

· In addition to this, no Girls’ Day Out would be complete without a kitchen and entertainment stage. Featuring famous foodie Annabel Langbein, Lana Garland from Food in a Minute, and much more!

· With the onset of summer, the Tip Top ice cream stand is set to be a popular one. Showcasing the seasons newest flavours, drop by for every girl’s favourite sweet treat! Yum!

· Find out why the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DSi have taken the world by storm. The technologically advanced game experiences are the ultimate way to have fun – they will be on show for you to test out.

And, as if this was not enough, Girls’ Day Out has a multitude of amazing prizes. With a trip for two to Vanuatu to giveaway, a $1000 shopping card for Sylvia Park, and spot prizes up for grabs Girls’ Day Out is all about pampering, empowering and prize winning fun!
