For me, the most relevant phrase you wrote is “to welcome everything as it is”.

This goes against the quote from the man with the unpronounceable name – “happiness is not something that happens.” If I welcome everything as it is (which I do) then happiness definitely is what happens. After all ‘happiness’ and ‘happen’ are both derived from the same root (Middle English – lucky)

I gain the impression that your version of happiness revolves around “contented and at peace” – a gentle space without chaos? My version is not like that at all. I find incredible happiness in experiencing and seeing chaos as it unfolds and allows change to enter and happen. I can honestly say that I am happy 99% of the time as whatever is happening happens! Being a mere mortal there are times when I forget and allow my mind to interfere and I become unhappy but what the heck?!
