365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – Blog#43 – Twas the Night Before the Workshop …

Submitted by on May 28, 2010 – 11:21 pm

Dave's using his strengths, here's his cool website: http://kereruculture.wordpress.com/profile/

Twas the night before Workshop,
and all through the land,
cold raindrops were falling,
as I fine tuned my plan.
Affirmations were finalised
and vision boards rolled up.
Plus plans for scary exercises,
prepared with much love.

Ok, so it’s nearly eleven pm and I’ve resorted to poetry writing to get my day clearly across to you.  Yes, tomorrow I’m running a workshop called:  ‘Sustainable Environmentalism: Three Groovy Ways to Chillax and Use Your Natural Talents to Create Positive Environmental Change.’
You could tell that from the poem couldn’t you?
How cool is that?  I think my workshop sounds just fabbo.  And guess what?  Four (perhaps five) people want to do it!  This is pretty good considering I took the so-called bull by the horns on Monday and proposed that we run a workshop to my friend Penny, the Manager of the Nelson Green Grocer Organic Shop in a mere five days time!  She said she laughed when she read my proposal, and was not at all surprised.  Penny was actually very accomodating considering she’s a virgo and they usually like to be highly organised.  She said she actually found it quite thrilling to leap into organisational mode with a tight time frame. Yes, sometimes I do take spontaneous action.  Not so often lately due to my parental duties, but still, I did it again this week.  And I must admit, it has been a little stressful.  I mean that honestly, as in, it’s been generally fine, with a few freak out nervous moments.
For anyone out there who would like to join us, the brief’s here.  At present we have room for you, and it would be amazing to meet you, so get in touch soon.  We start at one in the afternoon (don’t go turning up at one in the morning now) tomorrow afternoon at Nelson’s world famous Organic Green Grocer. Where really cool people work.  Like Dave the artist who runs Kereru Culture.  And Owen, who doesn’t have a website.  But he’s really good at jogging.
This is quite an exciting exercise to be undertaking.  I love working with groups.  I get very excited.  And I adore talking about people’s strengths and encouraging people to a) be clear about them b) trust and respect and value them and c) use them for the good of the planet and our people.  I really do.  I aim to run many more workshops in the future, so stay tuned, cause at some point, I’m com’n to your hood!

PS over the past week 1000 more people visited Happyzine and thirty more people signed up to our free weekly ezine.  This was thanks to the Free Store opening in Wellington.  We ran the article (how could we not?) and people flocked to our site to read all about it!  Brilliant.  Lessons were learned.

365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation (as I raise my gorgeous son and grow my good news website to a subscription base of 100,000 people).  The Low Down on this Blog.

Check out yesterday’s blog.
