Green Dreams Do Come True (For Golden Bay Parents)

Submitted by on November 22, 2010 – 9:55 pm

Parenting - the greatest act of love that ever existed.

Title of Course: Green Dreams Do Come True – Ten Ways to Bring Them to Life (For Parents)
Tutor: Charlotte Squire
Dates and times: Once a week – Monday mornings 10 – 12.  Starts Monday January 17th 2011, then 24th January [then Luminate Break], then continues through Feb 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, then March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th.

Venue: First course: Golden Bay: Charlotte’s House.

Your children are welcome to join us too, if you feel comfortable taking care of them whilst also engaging in the course.

Number of participants (minimum & maximum): 5 – 10 people

Description: This is a ten session, weekly course for parents who are serious about turning their green dreams into a happy reality (and perhaps even making some money from them). It is designed to support loving parenting, whilst acknowledging the importance of keeping our dreams alive and (patiently) moving forward as we raise healthy, thriving people. To give to ourselves is to give to our children. Course participants will work together within an inspired, highly supportive and positive culture to gain clarity about their unique strengths and the direction they can take their lives that will (in some way) be of service to the planet.

Students will: set achievable green goals and time frames; learn tools for steadily and happily working towards those goals; learn how to keep the vision and passion for these dreams alive; attract the support of dream mentor figures; identify the perfect people to collaborate with and entice them to do so; learn positive, effective communication strategies; and publically  promote their projects so that they’re taken seriously by the world. It is hoped that by the end of this course participants will have turned their green dreams into reality (or have made significant and satisfying progress towards them).

Each two hour session will involve: check-ins, a presentation from Charlotte (including case studies), questions and answers, goal setting and reviewing, networking, and one small home-work task will be set. Students will be encouraged to keep a journal of their progress. Participants will buddy up with fellow course members.

Please bring: A pen and paper
Cost: $200 (Visa is accepted and Charlotte is happy to work out a payment plan. Charlotte will accept up to half HANDS).

Tutor’s background: Charlotte Squire is the Editor, founder and a writer for Happyzine (www.happyzine.co.nz), an online media platform for positive social and environmental change which is contributed by a team of over thirty people. She has a BA in Social Policy and Politics and believes in the power of positive-media to create exciting political, social and environmental change. Charlotte has been a published free-lance writer (focusing upon positive green news) for around ten years.
