MIT’s Faculty of Creative Arts is Offering One Free Full Scholarship

MIT’s (Manakau Institute of Technology) Faculty of Creative Arts is offering one free full scholarship to the MIT Certificate of Photography at the Newmarket Campus, to a budding photographer or enthusiast. The competition is open to all, with the winner receiving the free scholarship.

Submissions are to be made online at www.thephotographersaward.net with a selection of entries being chosen to appear in The Photographers Award Exhibition in the foyer of the MIT Newmarket Campus, Level 4, 277 Broadway, Newmarket. The winner will be announced at the opening night on Friday 8 July and is open to the general public with the exhibition continuing through to the 29 July.

MIT Lecturer at the School of Visual Arts, Steve Rood says, “The Photographers’ Award is designed to nurture new talent, celebrate photographic endeavour, and foster continuing education in photography. Through the Certificate in Photography programme students create opportunities to develop their talent, gain professional skills and move towards a career in photography”.

Winners will be selected on the basis of creativity, sense of place and capturing the moment. Entries should be submitted online at by Thursday 30 June 2011. For more information including terms and conditions go to www.thephotographersaward.net

MIT Certificate in Photography is a full-time accredited, Level 4 programmed delivered by the MIT Faculty of Creative Arts at the MIT Newmarket Campus. It is a practical programme covering camera techniques, image design, digital photographic processes as well as computer programmes for digital enhancement which will enable students to participate in the photographic industry. The programme starts on Monday 18 July.
