Kia ora Michela, yes you can make a tea with a few flowers or leaves. It has quite a strong taste. It doesn't flower for very long just about 1 month at the height of summer so I make tincture from the leaves and flowers and use it to bathe cuts or wounds. I've posted another blog on happyzine showing how to make a tincture. And I include the tincture in many of my balms and creams. You can make a simple ointment using beeswax, olive oil and herbal tinctures. On my website there is a video showing how to make a balm. kindest regards

I've got this plant out my front garden. After reading all the valuable usages, I could definitely use some flowers/leaves for a tea, especially winter blues and digestive catarrh and insomnia. I'm giving it a go, thanks for the tips.

I have used St Johns Wort for years especially this time of year when I get the winter blues, I think it great! If only a few more people could see the benefits of this wonderful plant as opposed to un natural products that have long term detrimental issues. Keep growing your beautiful flower as it is doing its job without even being consumed.
