Go Kiwi Youth! New Zealand Youth Delegation Contribute to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

UNFCCC Negotiations Begin In Durban

Durban, South Africa (28/11/12) –

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations begun today with over 20,000 delegates converging on the International Conference Centre in Durban, South Africa.
This year’s negotiations are particularly important with world leaders considering the future of the Kyoto Protocol which expires at the end of 2012.

In addition to the official New Zealand Government Delegation, the New Zealand Youth Delegation is also in attendance at the negotiations. The New Zealand
Youth Delegation is particularly important this year as they provide the only non-governmental voice at the negotiations from New Zealand.

The New Zealand Youth Delegation will be following New Zealand’s progress in the negotiations ensuring the voice of future generations is heard.

Negotiations run from 28 November to 9 December.
