I find cycling on a lovely sunny brisk afternoon extremely good for my happiness quota, along with evenings with friends, good food, good company – the usual kind of thing. Also reminding myself the winter in NZ is nothing compared to a lot of places in the world. And I love movies, cards, music, nights at the Mussel Inn around the fire, playing Spotlight with the kids in the dark, digging the garlic patch, and our Jo Campbellannual frolic in the snow up at Sylvester Hutt in the Cobb.

And then of course, it’s fine to be miserable some of the time too!
