A group of award winning Golden Bay weavers are hosting a two day weaving course next year, with the organiser hoping this inaugural event will this will inspire people to visit from over the marble mountain.

Go Wild With Weaving starts Friday 25th (Anzac Day) and also runs through Saturday 26th April 2014, Collingwood (in Golden Bay). The course features five tutors to choose from, each offering a two day course in a particular weaving material and weaving technique.

Weaving choices include Cane, Willow, NZ flax/harakeke and other natural materials such as driftwood, pine needles, dracophyllum and cabbage tree leaves.

For the price of $290, participants get a two day workshop of high-class, high-creativity tuition, inclusive of materials, tasty luncheons for each of the two days and a convivial evening meal at local restaurants.  Each day will start at 9.30 and finish at 4.30 with an hour for lunch.

The workshops will be held at the Collingwood Area School, 5 mins walk from the town centre and the beach.

Love heart
