YourMondayMotivator – Glenn Edley
Like a lot of New Zealanders I am writing this from a beach. In fact I am sitting in exactly the same place as I was at this time last year.
I noticed the holiday hasn’t really started for some because there is still maintenance left to do on things that haven’t been used for a year.
Maintenance is those little jobs that keep things in tip-top shape and able to be used at short notice. Lack of maintenance in cars, boats, jet-ski’s etc can end up costing you a lot of money when something major goes wrong. Doing those little jobs keeps the rust and corrosion at bay.
Seeing this I wondered if we do enough maintenance on ourselves.
John F. Kennedy said, “The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.”
The time to fix things up isn’t the time you need to use them it’s in the down time. This holiday have a think about what maintenance you need to do to be ready to go at any time. It might be 20 press-ups a day, or a 30 minute walk, whatever you think is the minimum, then start doing it. Don’t get carried away. Just do the minimum maintenance you need to do and you will be able to keep it up.
Have a great holiday.
Regards,
Glenn Edley
