365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation As I Raise My Son and Grow My Good News Website – Blog#4
When in doubt, bake ginger nuts.
Today it hit me. I’ve moved to Golden Bay and left my old life behind. Whispers of sadness crept through my heart, through the excitement and the joy of relocating, came the thoughts of what I’d left behind. I did what any food loving woman would do in my situation. I baked. Ginger nuts. And buckwheat muffin with apple and Cinnamon (sugar free). Ahhh … so soothing. This met my need for nurturing whilst feeding my friends and family at the same time. I was back in the kitchen again with my mother and my grandmother and my womanly ancestors, and actually come to think of it a some male ancestors who I know for a fact also loved to bake. And we were mak’n food. It worked. So then I went and challenged a teenager to a game of Connect Four. It was ferocious. We drew – winning four each of six games of Connect Four, plus two deciding games of pee-knuckle. I leave you with Rhyc Darby’s interpretation of the dinosaur:
