Balancing business with heart and integrity is possible.

For the last few weeks I have been getting real about what I am committed to in life and I am finding it a little uncomfortable. I find that my ideals and passions conflict with the mainstream corporate ideals that paid my bills for many years of my life.

Recently I realised that four years after leaving my last job that I have become a business hippy! I now see the opportunity for people to use business as a means to an end. That end being the ability to help people create fulfilling lives, lives where you have the freedom to make a difference to the things that are important to you.

It is scary for me to declare this because for many years I saw this kind of public commitment as a “fluffy, feel good” concept without substance. Looking back I can see that I used pragmatism as an excuse to merely dabble in “doing good”. I still had “real work” commitments preventing me from launching into something that I was really committed to. Am I the only person who feels this way?

Lately I have been putting together a program to train 12 people in everything that I have been learning in my quest for a low maintenance income. This is exciting because this will be the proof that anyone with guts and motivation can create the lifestyle they want… However, I have a new rule for the game!

I am now looking for 12 people who have a massive commitment to something bigger than their own interest, people who would really like to sink their teeth into that thing that plays on their mind over and over. In particular I would like to work with people who would like to positively impact people, the environment, or social causes.

I believe that if money was not an issue that most people would want to either spend more time with their families, travel and have more adventures or make a difference in the world.  It is people that fall into the last category that I really want to work with in this instance.

I know that this may cut out plenty of the people who would be interested in creating a passive income but I am ok with that! As the ruler of my own destiny, I choose to work with people who have great hearts, and that is how it is going to go.

So, I am looking for 12 people who really want to make a difference in the world who are interested in creating a low maintenance income.
