365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – Blog#125 – Fancy A Little Power Smoothie to Pep Things Up?

Submitted by on August 21, 2010 – 10:40 pm

The good news is I’m ninety percent of the way through the second draft of my e-book.  I read back over it today and enjoyed it, I hope I’m not the only one!  Now let’s get straight to the point – sweet moment of the day – The Spirilina/Green Food Smoothie.  It felt good to be preparing all those nutritious  ingredients for my son and I.  Kahu (who is nearly three) adores spirilina smoothies, I started him on them young and where as I would have run screaming at the thought of  sipping on dark green liquid thirty years ago, Kahu sometimes begs me to make more!

Here’s the recipe:

1 Cup raw salad greens

1 half Cup berries

1 ripe banana

2 Kiwifruit (or any other ripe fruit you’d like to add)

1 Teaspoon Spirilina powder

1 Cup water

Instructions

Blend the whole lot in your smoothie maker and consume!

These types of raw food smoothies, which you get very creative with, are a wonderful way to energize and fill up on live food.  As someone who loves the feeling of having just eaten a good salad but is very lazy about preparing them, these smoothies are an ideal way to eat raw greens, easily, quickly and most importantly deliciously!
