350 Aotearoa: Lunch with Conrad Smith

Submitted by Charlotte on October 14, 2010 – 5:53 pmNo Comment

What: 10/10/10 — “The Global Climate Working Bee” — was a day when communities across the globe came together to celebrate climate solutions at 7347 events in 188 countries. The day was organised in New Zealand by 350 Aotearoa as part of an international campaign to unite the world around solutions to climate change.

Anyone who registered or volunteered at an action on 10/10/10 in the Greater Wellington region went in the draw to win a lunch with Conrad Smith at Logan Brown restaurant.

Logan Brown also put up 35 lunches for 2 to enjoy a 3 course meal for only $3.50 per person! (Normally valued at $39.90 per head). The lunch will also take place on Monday 18th October, 12pm – 2pm, in Logan Brown’s prized premises on Cuba Street.

Conrad will be there to thank all the winners for getting involved in the Global Climate Working Bee.

When: Monday 18th October 2010
Time: 12 noon – 2 pm

Where
: Logan Brown Restaurant, 192 Cuba Street, (Corner Cuba & Vivian Streets), Wellington

JOIN CLUB HZ TODAY AND KEEP THE GOOD NEWS ONLINE

Who will be attending?

Conrad Smith, Vodafone Wellington Lion and All Black

Claire Pascoe, Winner of 350 Aotearoa / Logan Brown ‘Lunch with Conrad Smith’ Wellington regional competition.

Steve Logan, Logan Brown Restaurant

Seventy other Competition Winners (35 lunches for 2 competition)

Why: 350 parts per million (ppm) is the safe upper limit of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.

From the beginning of human history until the Industrial Revolution, global atmospheric carbon dioxide did not exceed about 280ppm. Now, after three centuries of burning coal, oil, and gas, we’re at 390ppm – that’s above any levels we’ve seen in recorded history.

350 Aotearoa is part of an international campaign to unite global communities around solutions to getting us back to a 350ppm world.
