365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – Blog#193 – The Indication of Pleasure
After a brief resting period through the heart of winter my three year old son Kahu is back into naked frolicking on the beach. Today’s blog would be far more exciting if I said I joined him wouldn’t it? What if I said I decided to ignore the cars (and the people driving them) buzzing by on the coast road and rip my clothes off to sprint joyously towards the water screaming at the top of my lungs while my dog barked in an impressed kind of way and my son learned the true meaning of what it is to be an adult: freedom. Ok, I’ve said it, and it may or may not be true.
That time at the beach really did fill my soul back up. As did it my external pleasure indicator – Maia the dog – if she’s happy it’s usually because I’ve taken her somewhere nice, and if I’ve taken her somewhere nice I’m usually in a good mood. You see my logic?
Onto another subject now, I worked out I’ve got eleven Happyzine projects on the go, today. Hmmm, that’s a full hand plus one toe worth of stuff to think about – hence my ‘be in the moment’ practice. I think the key to success is to some of them through to fruition. Determination seems to be one of the habits of successful people so I’m goin’ with it. Decisiveness rates up there too. I love a decisive person. So I’ve decisively decided that I’m one of those too.
Do you know what I’ve got to do very soon? Create a launch plan for my ebook. As in, I’ve got to book in some venues, and actually turn up somewhere to officially launch it. And assume that other people will turn up too. Hmm, this scares the cr*p out of me. Generally this means it’s a good idea. Sigh.
You may detect a wary note to my blogging today, it’s because I’ve been up with my coughing son through the night lately. I try to rub this great Weleda chest rub (homeopathic) on his chest but he tells me he likes coughing. This stopped me in my tracks. Was he being truthful or was it a ploy to avoid the chest rub? I’m still not sure. I’m a little too tired to be sure. In a decisive sort of way.
Anyway, it’s time for bed. Though just before I head off, in response to our green energy design challenge Wild Energy, a reader who we shall know as ‘Flo’ sent in this groovy Ted video today:
