365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – Blog 206 – Music Takes Over
I write this as my son tries to remove my skirt so that that he can wear it (“It’s not fair!” He rightly proclaims). He’s three and I suppose I’m now going to have to explain to him the whole ‘girls wear skirts and boys don’t’ thing we have going on in our culture. Or maybe not quite yet. What’s the rush?
So what was your peak moment of the day? What was your most joyful memory? It doesn’t have to be funny, or impressive, it can simply be just as it was: happy. I’d be pretty interested to hear, in fact – there’s a free copy of my new ebook up for grabs if I like your most enjoyable moment Just tell us in the comments section below.
Mine, once again, was rock star practice. It was singing, sweet singing. It was throwing my head back and letting that noise soar out of my lungs and completely forgetting where I ended and the music began. It was noting that my vocal chords are slowly but surely reclaiming their former strength. It was hearing a whole orchestra playing along side me (though there were only two of us today) as I played. It was observing my confidence ebbing gently back into its rightful place. It was playing a fast song alongside a friend as she belted a djembe with flying hands. It was dreaming of our future audience dancing as we danced and made soulful, joyful music. It was all there today: bliss.

Hey Charlotte,
my peak moment of the day yesterday was collecting Carlos when he finished work, with a car full of towels, togs and a picnic dinner…hooning down to the river, jumping into the deliciously warm water and flapping about until my muscles got all tingly, then sharing a lovingly created meal on the river stones together in the evening sun.
Delish!
