SOLD: Beautiful Happyzine

I’ve been very focused on Wild Energy and music today, yet my most beautiful moments were at a chance visit to the supermarket.

There are few things I like more than a good smile with a stranger.  I just love it.  Nothing better than a brief, beautiful connection, eye to eye, with someone I never met before and will possibly never see again.  So life throw’s these moments at me all the time, or perhaps I call them in, nevertheless, they are common, deeply touching experiences for me, and salt and peppered through my life.

Today though, there were no strangers, I knew many of the people at the supermarket.  They were around every corner.  They were deep in concentration, maneuvering their shopping carts, frowning at their shopping lists, examining salad greens, selecting fresh bread.

I live in a small community, so this is to be expected.  However today I found it comforting and reassuring to see the familiar faces.  Today I felt that with each smile of recognition, I was reminded that I was a part of something, a part of this community.  And today I guess I needed to feel that sense of belonging.

Running a website feeds a part of me, but nothing beats the contact with people – be they strangers or friends – face to face contact with actual, real human beings is what fills me up.  How about you?
