Wave Power Vessel – by Brendan Burke
This invention consists of a wave power vessel that generates power by hundreds of small magnet copper coil units, photovoltaics, and wind power.
Function Summary
Multi deck ship with hundreds of small magnet coil generators, solar panels, and wind turbines.
The ship will anchor facing its bow (forward) into ocean swells. As the bow rises up on the ocean wave the magnet balls will move on rails through the copper coils that are wrapped around the outside of the rails. When the ship tilts the other direction on the back side of the wave the magnet balls will move in the opposite direction. The back and forth movement of the magnet balls will generate electricity.
The ship can be outfitted with multiple decks holding hundreds of the ball magnet generators. The top deck can be outfitted with solar panels and wind turbines to generate additional electricity.
The ship will use a traditional anchoring system and small electric propellers to maintain the proper heading. Using a mobile platform to generate electricity has several advantages over other ocean power deployments.
Power is brought to the mainland via undersea cable.

I like the idea of a ship as a renewable energy plant, but I doubt your magnet-ball rocking-generators are the way to go; rectifying all those little generators would be a pain, provided you could get a useful waveform out of them at all. There are better designs for wavepower-generators.
