Ekodo: Forest Sublime
Have you been to a forest today?
With all senses acutely aware?
Bathed in rivers and washed your worries away?
Drawn deep the secrets of ancient green air?
Have you sat on a log wet with moss?
Have you heard the music of streams?
Have you felt the passion of a sandfly’s kiss?
Have you dreamed impossible dreams?
Have you walked a heavenly stair?
With beads of sweat on your brow?
Danced naked with leaves and sticks in your hair?
After rolling around on some sacred ground?
Have you tasted the leaf of a tree?
As the dawn sun touches your cheek?
Have you felt the wind at the edge of a cliff?
Have you crossed a beautiful creek?
Have you walked for days alone?
Discovered just what you don’t need?
Have you gladly forgotten the comforts of home?
Have you found a way to be free?
Have you unearthed a sense of wonder?
Discovered your love for the land?
Sought refuge from an otherwise busy life?
By letting eternity take your hand?
Have you found the truth of ages?
To dwell in the forests of time?
Have you opened your eyes to the pages?
Of the unwritten book of the forest sublime?
Have you been to a forest today?
Have you been to a forest today?

I was in a forest the other day and blown away by the noise! It was amazing – cicadas, birds, stream – AMAZING!

Dipped into a little pocket of forest today. Rich damp dark and full of furns. Even just a little time there had a huge freshening effect on me. I’m flushed with longing at the through of having a decent wallow in the woods. Days on end would be bliss for my soul. I love the poem Sean. Thanks for sharing.
