Happyzine 2015 = exciting times ahead

Today some Regeneration people came to my house and filmed me about Happyzine.  How could I NOT blog about these guys?

This is the brief about Regeneration:

“The ReGeneration project is an independent network for young New Zealander’s who are working to create positive change in their communities, workplaces, families, schools and natural environments. Members support each others’ work through regular projects and collaborations, annual events and online networks.”

The amazing thing is that many of the projects and people I’ve been profiling through Happyzine over the past few years have had some, or a lot of involvement with Regeneration.

These people are onto something.  They’re at the heart of something exciting for our country.  They’re young, they’re organised, they’re positive, they have strong skill bases, they’re educated, and they have a deep social conscience.  Regeneration are pulling those of us who believe, who KNOW we can positively influence our social and environmental future, together so that we’re energising and strengthening each other.  This is powerful stuff.

They filmed me today, in my living room.  And I loved the questions they asked me.  They really ‘got it’.  They focused on the aspects of Happyzine that are deeply important to me.  They asked me questions that lead to me talking about the stories and intent at the very heart of Happyzine.  And also … I’ve got say: they had really flash film gear!  It was lush.  Made me want to take up film-making.

I’m really looking forward to watching the ninety second films they’re whipping up.  They’re going to post up two films per week on vimeo.com as they travel the country.  I intend to post them up on Happyzine as they come.  Also, one of their coordinators – Lani Evans – is going to blog about their journey once a week for Happyzine.
