365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – 313 – New Queenstown Enviro-School Creates Green Roof With Multiple Benefits
Seeing I’ve been running some news on Ian Montangee’s White Roofs project, I was pleased to receive news of another take on green-roofing in my inbox today. Check it out the article: ‘Primary School Becomes First in New Zealand to Wear a Green Roof’. It’s about the first school in New Zealand to construct a ‘green roof’. Remarkables Primary School, which is a new enviro school, has just added an outdoor, roof top classroom to its smaller than average premises. The roof will also help to insulate the school, reduce storm-water run off, and to help cut down on sound from the near-by airport. Now that’s what I call ‘thinking outside the square’ (pun unintended). My congratulations to the team at Remarkables Primary.
