365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – 342 – The Composting Toilet Dialogue Continues, This Time Lead by AJ Hickling
Naturally AJ Hickling has taken up the question of ‘why aren’t more people using composting toilets in Christchurch right now?’. AJ’s like that. He tackles the obvious yet, unadressed issues. I know some of my friends in Christchurch have set up compost toilets, but the Christchurch City Council officially disproves. That’s all good, I understand that they’re interested in preventing potential health scares. But the thing is, many systems we use in life could lead to health issues, and we make sure they don’t – for example LPG leakages. This too can apply to composting toilets, when they’re set up properly they run like a dream and all the while you’re contributing to making more dirt for a planet that really needs it.
So check out AJ’s latest video. He takes us down to Christchurch to the City Council to chat about rules and regs around CTs,, and then we meet a very calm man in Marahau explaining the joys of his composting toilets and his fat blue-berries. I think AJ makes a good point. Good on ya AJ.
