Watch a Film This Sunday and Help Christchurch
Press release: Variety, the Children’s Charity
Catherine Orr
Date: 24/05/2011
Cinemas nationwide have come together to help Christchurch families following the earthquake, by donating proceeds from two charity screenings on Sunday, 29 May. New Zealanders are encouraged to head on down to their local cinema on Sunday and watch a film for a good cause.
Participating cinemas in towns all around New Zealand will be offering adult tickets at children’s prices. All proceeds will go to Variety – The Children’s Charity to help children that are suffering as a result of the earthquake.
Variety is there for children in all sorts of challenging circumstances and has been working in the Christchurch community for many years supporting sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. Some examples of things that Variety is funding from its earthquake appeal include replacing mobility and medical equipment for children with special needs, providing toys or equipment for those who suffered great loss, financial help with school or sports fees, or helping children to cope with loss.

Your small contribution will help Variety to make a big difference in the lives of children in Christchurch.”
