Join the Conscious Consumers Movement!

Submitted by on October 6, 2011 – 9:25 am

The conscious consumers project was created by the 42collective, a not-for profit charitable organisation based in Wellington.

Our vision is for New Zealand to be a place where it’s easy for people to live socially and environmentally responsible lifestyles.

What we are trying to achieve:

To empower consumers to make more informed purchasing choices

To encourage New Zealand cafes to adopt more environmentally and socially conscious business practices.

The project promotes nine practices which we believe make good business sense, respect people and the environment and reflect current consumer preferences. For each practice we award a badge that demonstrates a cafe’s commitment to this practice, and have a process for verifying compliance.

Being a ‘conscious consumer’ means thinking about how the purchases you make every day can affect other people and the planet. By joining, you’re creating a critical mass of consumers who, together, send a clear message of support for businesses that have demonstrated that they care about more than their bottom line.

Joining our movement makes being a conscious consumer easy. Once a month (starting in December), we’ll send you an email that hooks you up with:

  • Deals on good stuff from our participating cafes
  • Tips and tricks to support your conscious consumer lifestyle

PLUS join by 1 December to be in the draw for our primo prize pack…
