Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week in full swing!
What action have you been taking to keep your neighborhood beautiful?
By Sam Rye
We arrived into the office this week to a stream of messages, blogs, tweets, Facebook posts, photos and emails about people taking action during the first weekend of Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week!
All over the country, people got out and about, onto the streets, the beaches, along the rivers and lakes, and in their backyards to give New Zealand a spring clean.
From the Far North to the Deep South, messages rolled in from people who had a great time with their sleeves up, working with their friends, whanau & other members of their community. It’s inspiring to see & hear so we thought we would share some of these with you.
Big thanks to Madison Recruitment for their blog about tree planting for Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week. We love the colorful gumboots & informative stats on car sharing, recycling & energy use!
The very choice efforts of Keep Dunedin Beautiful down on the coast yielded a great photo set, another from the beautiful Bay of Islands, and some from the Coastal Cleanup in Wellington too!
Thanks so much to everyone who has already done a little (or a lot!) to help us, as a nation, to gain a lot. If some of this has inspired you a little, then jump online and find an event close to you: http://cleanup.knzb.org.nz/
Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week doesn’t finish until Saturday 22nd, so there’s still time to be involved!!
Also stay tuned for a big announcement at the end of Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week to keep the ball rolling in 2012!
