Help this French artist introduce “Living Walls” to Lower Hutt
This coming Labour Weekend, Sunday 21 October, the Dowse Square will play host to an international urban artist in an event that will encourage community participation in urban art.
The artist, Olivier Tenedor, wants the community to help him create his works and there will be space available on the works themselves for the community to share their own thoughts and ideas.
“Everyone will need lots of imagination and creativity” says Olivier.
Olivier Tenedor hails from Cherbourg, France, but it’s in Argentina where he found fame in the bustling street art movement. Olivier was instrumental in transforming some tired run down streets in Buenos Aires with his innovative and dynamic urban art. He is also passionate about painting, printmaking and sculpture and believes in joyful art that everyone can participate in.
“This is a great example of what the Dowse Square can be used for. It’s also a unique opportunity for anyone to come along and take part in the creation of some unique urban art” says community services general manager Matt Reid.
