Pay as little as $1 per week to crowd fund Happyzine!

Submitted by on May 27, 2013 – 1:37 pm 3 Comments

A packed house full of creative and innovative New ZealandersForty of you have joined Club Happyzine!  With a little bit of help from 460 more of you by June 31st, Happyzine can keep making a positive difference.

Hey there,

I’m Charlotte Squire, and I’ve got this optimism habit I just can’t kick.  Every day I’m seeing stories of people making a positive difference for the planet and for their communities and we seriously love sharing them with you.

I know Happyzine is an important source of information for many people, especially those who have stopped watching T.V. and reading papers because of those dramatic headlines.

So I’d like to ask you to help us continue to offer stories of hope in people’s lives, by paying-what-you-can afford to join Club Happyzine.  Even $1 per week makes a powerful difference!

As well as the good-news tops ups, members of Club Happyzine get access to free sustainably produced giveaways from some of New Zealand’s most inspiring businesses such as Lifestream spirulina, Eatright gluten free goodies, Kokako coffee and more!  We’re also now able to hook you up with exclusive deals beginning with:

10% off ECOtanka drink bottles – to members of Club Happyzine only.  You can order them here, via the EcoMoon website and Sharon from ECOtanka (a huge Happyzine fan) will take it from there.

If each of us give just a little, we can create a sustainable platform for the new generation of media – media designed to create a positive future for our land and our communities.

How to join today:

Pay what you can afford – suggested scales:

Students or people on low income: $1 – $2 per week

People in workforce, on low income: $3 per week

Those earning middle range income: $3-$5 per week

People fortunate enough to be on ‘high income’ (you decide!): $5 – $7 per week

One off donations are also greatly appreciated and providing they’re more than $50 will join you up to Club Happyzine.

Kiwi’s can start A.P.s immediately to: 38-9006-0747456-00.  Please email [email protected] with your name and address so we can get the goodies to you!

With warm thanks,

Charlotte Squire

    Hi Happyzine
I feel for you and your situation. I think what you do is needed in society today to balance the mass media machine but I do think you need to put something in print to get enough people to pay for the service. I know there are many drawbacks for doing this especially environment and cost, but I think it’s what people would be willing to fork out for. There is so much free access to news online these days why pay for another form of it?
I subscribe to Positive News UK (where I’m based) it’s a quarterly publication and even though I have access to the internet version there is something very satisfying about holding a paper and reading all this good stuff, then leave around for other people to read, pass on or pick up again later to reread. Something I’m willing to pay $15 for a quarterly publication.
I may just be old fashioned but this paper has been very successful.

    Just a thought
    Good luck
    Paul

Thanks for news carried by Happyzine. Sorry for delay in joining. I have to admit the dateline was a prompt. I can see Paul liking hard copy, but personally, I don’t want any more paper coming through. Already buried by print. Emails hard enough to keep up with. Also, print would be another area of work. I’m for simplicity in production and distribution. Focus on the news gathering and sifting. Cheers,
    Betty

Yes, I understand that good old fashioned paper can be a good option Paul and I will think about it. Thanks for your feedback.
