Good to hear you liked the Takapuna Market. It’s so true about the local multiplier effect. Seems like a no brainer when you factor that in to your shopping equation. When you compare that with giving your money to an Australian supermarket chain, it’s really good there are alternatives.

We had great fun cooking and videoing it with much snorting and laughter from the behind camera team. And they were really nice so most of them got eaten hot from the oven. I did manage to keep some back for a beetroot soup. We now need to find more for a honey nut butter we want to make and did try foraging in The Domain but were hampered by not knowing what a chestnut tree looks like. A job for google

Great idea to try them, I’ve always wanted to experience the joy of chestnuts. I tried to cook them once but they were horrible. i’d love to see a video of you giving it a go Jana I mean cooking and eating!

Scribe a cross in the top of the chestnut then Roast the on a bbq till blistered, let them cool a liitle, scoop out the flesh and add to a rich pumpkin or kumera soup, drizzle with olive oil, super delicious!!!!!
