Christine and her cat face challenges as they eat local for 30 days
Christine Paris is eating food grown and produced within a 200 km radius for 30 days of April in the Happyzine Eat Local Challenge.
Sam the cat and I had a slip this week.
Sam ran out of liver and would not eat the cooked lamb’s lung, so he had to go back on the dry processed food.
I had a friend over who brought her lemon muffins – they are to die for. It was completely my fault. I should have called her and asked her NOT to bring any baking, but I didn’t.
Now I am back on track eating more protein and starchy vegetables to overcome my grain craving.
On a positive note, my watermelon plant finally has ripe watermelons.
Also I spent the day today removing my dying pumpkin plant to reveal about 40 pumpkins! The photo only shows some of them! Lots of roast pumpkin and pumpkin soup will be made and consumed!
