What is the #CountMeIn Thunderclap all about?
In New Zealand we throw away nearly half a billion takeaway cups every year, millions of animals are living in tiny cages and more than a hundred thousand workers are on less than $15/hour.
Problems like these can be solved. Over the last few years the social enterprise Conscious Consumers has built a movement of thousands of consumers and accredited hundreds of businesses – supporting many of them to improve how they operate.
Its time this movement was taken to the next level, in order to drive more significant positive change across the entire economy. Conscious Consumers has a revolutionary idea that will transform every dollar you spend into a vote for a better world.
The idea is called ‘The Good Spend Counter’ and will work by aggregating all the electronic transactions of conscious consumers in businesses doing good. The counter will show businesses that their efforts to do good will be rewarded!
On 3 June they’re launching a crowdfunding campaign – #CountMeIn – to help make the idea a reality.
