Beautiful tree offers 40 different types of stone fruit
I remember my father doing a much smaller version of this when I was a little girl starting life in Rockville. A arts professor from upstate New York has created a true work of art by taking “a sliver off one of the trees that includes the bud, I insert it into a like-size incision in the working tree, tape it, let it sit and heal in all winter, then I prune it back and hope that it grows.” His efforts create one tree that offers 40 varieties of peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines and cherries.
