365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation As I Raise My Son and Grow My Good News Website – Blog#17

Submitted by on May 2, 2010 – 8:01 pm

Today. One woman. Alone. On the beach. Happy. I refer once more to the Tim Shadbolt line: ‘There’s something special about the place where the land meets the sea. It’s where people go to let go’. I sauntered along having a wee chat with myself about this very blog. I’m really enjoying myself (I said to myself). It just feels good, all this writing after years of minimal writing attention. It’s so easy. Why is it so easy? (I asked myself) Because it’s from my heart (I responded). Hmmm. Yes. The joys of coming from the heart. I know it sounds cliched, but doing stuff that feels good and comes easy, also known as ‘using our strengths’, is a very important ingredient to include in the average happy person’s day. The beach shone up at me. Shells appeared invitingly at my feet, making themselves freely available just in case I was the collector type. The sea crashed onto the beach, all nice and reliable like. And I inhaled.

Today’s rating: 10/10

PS today I made basil pesto for the first time in my entire 33.5 years and it was delicious! I was wildly excited. My friend Fi gave me some fresh basil and I used the wizz stick to mix it up with grape seed oil, salt and ground Parmesan. I gave that a 16/10.

PPSS This song is sweet Aotearoa to the core.
