365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – Blog#175 – Wild Energy is Wildly Happening SOON!!!
Coolest moments of this day? Chatting with Mr David Laing my Wild Energy cohort about our … giggle: LAUNCH. It’s been absolutely marvelous over the past week seeing groups step up for us and put the word out to their networks about our current need for prizes for Wild Energy. However not a single new prize has surfaced … yet!
We’ll just go ahead anyway.
We’re due for take off this Monday. And as Queen liked to scream: The Show Must Go On’. David and I have put so much work into this competition, and in the most sustainable, steady manner I might add. Which is highly appropriate I do believe as us greenies must walk our talk. Every Thursday at 1pm for the past nine months we’ve been keeping each other up to date on our progress with Wild Energy. And over the months we’ve slowly gathered up an amazing panel of judges who are:
Jeanette Fitzsimons (who has recently retired from her long held position as co-Leader of the NZ Green Party), Tim Wigmore (a Wellington based designer), Steve Goldthorpe (a Waiapu based energy analyst) Chris Heaslip (an Invercargille based engineer) and Geoff Henderson (CEO of Windflow Technology Ltd and recognised global wind energy expert.
They’re a great bunch.
Whew! This process has involved a lot of work and attention to detail.
Now while I’m on my bandwagon, let’s throw the support of the Wild Rivers campaign who represent Fish and Game, Federated Mountain Clubs, Forest & Bird, Whitewater NZ, the Council of Outdoor Recreation Associations of NZ, the NZ Rafting Association, the New Zealand Federation of Freshwater Anglers and the Environment and Conservation Organisations of NZ.
AND
Let’s not forget ourpanel of NZ Politicians who will choose and comment upon their favorite three designs who are: National MP Nicky Wagner, Labour MP Charles Chauvel and Green Party MP Kevin Hague.
AND FINALLY
We have sponsorship from www.scoop.co.nz – who will advertise Wild Energy during the duration of the competition – which is around three months.
Yes, it’s a summer competition for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, though we are hoping many will enter it world-wide.
Ok, while I’m mentioning the team who are supporting this initiative, I must also mention the other people who are sponsoring Wild Energy:
Anyway, my boy requires my motherly attention now so I’d best be off. Here’s a little Queen before I go:
