365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – 314 – Happiness in Workplace Matters More and More
The Mental Health Foundation have a nice, positive, holistic approach to health and well-being and right now they’re shining their light upon overall well being in the workplace. They use this fantastic sentence: “The realisation that employers hire a whole person still needs advancement when it comes to HR policy” in an article I just posted for them. I really like reading that. I mean, it’s not one hundred percent there, but it signifies an emotional wisdom that I love picking up from a Government funded organisation who often feature on our TV stations and on radio.
The Mental Health Foundation are currently promoting the ‘Like Mine Auckland Metro Forum’ which will focus on wellness in the workplace, as well as highlighting ways to overcome some of the difficulties experienced by employers and employees alike.
Sounds wise to me.
I have one comment to make – mental health begins at, and even before birth. It’s important to focus upon the emotional well-being of a person from around the time of birth. Parents really are social change agents – we’re raising the next generation. It’s easy to over look this fact when you’re not a parent, but for me, the responsibility is with me daily. Raising people with a keen sense of self-respect, wholeness, happiness will set future generations up for a both a healthy society and a thriving planet.
