365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – 345 – Relax, God Can’t Be Rushed

Submitted by on April 8, 2011 – 5:40 pm

It’s been all on organising Green Dream courses (including pilots here in Golden Bay) and setting up ‘behind the scenes’ relationships with people who are interested in working with me to sell my ebook. One thing I realised (yet again) was that I need to keep taking time out to relax, especially when I’ve been on the computer for hours at a time.  Computers, no matter how new and flash, are still electronic devices so I think it’s good to work, take a break, work, take a break.  And taking a break is exactly what I’m about to do!

And when I say relax, I mean really let go.  The word is ‘surrender’.   I read a lot about ‘peace of mind’.  In a Christian book I was reading recently the author was talking about going at ‘God’s pace’, or walking in peace and realising that God will do things in God’s time.  God can’t be rushed.  This corresponds with ‘being in the moment’, taking things one moment at a time, and trusting in the completeness of those moments.  It also works in well within the Zen discipline of being fully in each moment and not getting attached to desire and wanting because these feelings take us out of the moment and into the future and into a feeling of lack, because that thing we’re craving isn’t here yet (or we wouldn’t be desiring it).

A friend of mind was saying recently that she’s good at the asking, but it’s the trusting in the moments she she finds challenging.  I really get this.  I’ve noticed that people who create success in their lives are very ‘in the moment’ or moving along peacefully at ‘God’s pace’.  It takes concentration to remain in the moment.  I’m concentrating right now, can you feel it?

So, as always, the trick is to feel as if we already have it.  How would we feel as if we already had it? We’d feel happy and satisfied for a moment.  It’s that moment that we need to dwell in now, to both relax and draw in that which we want.  The more relaxed we are, the happier we are, and the easier things seem to ‘fall onto our laps’.

The other thing is, sometimes, ‘the moment’ can be awesome.
