365 Days of Fun and Chillaxation – 351 – “Take Some R&R Now or I Will Make You!” Said the Wise Body
I know I’m not alone in saying this.
My body’s been asking me to slow down for a few months. It keeps saying ‘relax’ and ‘rest’ and when I do, everything just feels better. Then again, some-days lately it’s just felt impossible to relax. Oh yes, I will admit that due to the ‘one thing after another’ syndrome my brain became too full, too frazzled until it decided to take a break. It made my body stop me. Or some might say, I made my body stop me, yes, there’s some truth in that if I go deeper with it. My back started to hurt this morning at Playcentre and before long I found myself walking around in a mild-daze, giggling occasionally and marveling that my body had held out as long as it did before it sent me the clear signal to take some R & R.
I suspect this is a change of the seasons thing too. And I don’t just mean that in a ‘wives tale’ sort of way, I’m noticing there are others like me …
So it’s back to the chillaxation drawing board. Again. Sigh. Though this time I’m taking the art of chillaxation far more seriously. My body very rarely hurts, so it’s best to pay attention when it does. So you wanna know what I’m doing about it? Well ok!
I’m letting go of worrying about making the numbers work on my current courses, they will. I’m drawing up list of ten ways I can make my life easier for myself. I’m booking in some discussions with those that I’m closer to about ways they can help me to take the pressure of myself. I’m sinking deeper into my meditation practice and spending a little time honouring the sore parts. I’m listening just that little more to my needs and taking the time to meet them. I’m the only one who can.
