Cantabrian extraordinaire: Cathy Harrison
In the lead up to the Christchurch Changemakers Convention, we’re spot-lighting some of the stars of Christchurch. We’re inviting you to write us blogs about someone in Christchurch who you really appreciate and admire. Helen bowen has blogged about Cathy Harrison. If you like this Ode to Cathy, give it the ‘thumbs up’ below.
Cathy Harrison has spent the time since both earthquakes baking and providing food for those who gave lost their homes. She has also opened her home to those without a bed. She sought funding for four women to attend a womens’ spirituality workshop. These women would not have been able to attend the workshop which lasted 3 days but for her support. She is planning to make her house available for respite while she works Out of Christchurch for short periods of time next year. She always has a frozen meal in her freezer for someone who is without.
