Conference of good ideas – Project Lyttelton

Submitted by on July 25, 2012 – 1:48 pm

Project Lyttelton to host conference to facilitate sharing of ideas and enable communities to support one another

4th August will see community leaders and not for profit managers from across the region come together at Living Springs conference centre on the Banks Peninsula. This ‘Open Space’ conference will seek to answer the following question:

“What is trying to emerge, what ideas do we have, what is exciting us, what actions are we doing to move us forward as a community/region/country and how can we enable all this to happen?”

Lottie Harris Manager at Project Lyttelton said “The last two years have been unprecedented in the challenges that they have brought to us in the Canterbury region, but despite this we keep hearing of so many amazing projects happening out there, of new exciting ideas emerging, we wanted a forum where we could share, hear about and explore these bold new ideas and a chance for those in the sector to network with one another, support one another and to plan for the future together.”

Event invitation follows:

We see you as important in the unfolding of our community/region/country’s future.

So we invite you to attend an Open Space event…

Date: Saturday 4th August 2012

Time: 9.30am – 5.30pm

Venue: Living Springs Conference Centre, Bamfords Road, Governors Bay

Cost: koha – see note below

About the event:

By the end of the day you will have engaged in insightful conversations on topics that really interest you, made connections, been inspired and worked out some next steps. You will have notes on all of the significant conversations.

Open Space is a self-organising process. The gathering will be facilitated by Margaret Jefferies.

Morning and afternoon tea/snacks, and lunch will be provided.

For catering purposes we need to have your RSVP by 27th July. Also let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Send details to [email protected].nz or 328 9260.

We are currently exploring funding possibilities for this event. Project Lyttelton will underwrite in the interim. There will be a koha box for any supporting help.

If you are from out of town and need accommodation, this could be arranged via our Lyttelton TimeBank and other communities offering. Just let us know in plenty of time.

If you have a laptop, please bring that along.
