Pay Fair Trade Forward changing the world one coffee at a time

fairtrade coffee

Pay Fair Trade Forward (PFTF) is a social experiment which aims to educate people about fair trade and ethical consumerism. It uses the ‘pay it forward’ concept as a vehicle to increase awareness of the global impact individuals can make simply by thinking carefully about what they purchase.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It’s simple! On the morning of the National PFTF day, an army of volunteers all over the country will head into participating cafes and buy a fair-trade coffee.

BUT…. here is the difference…

Instead of indulging themselves, they will leave this coffee as a gift for the next customer!

The next person to walk into the cafe will then receive a free cup of fair trade coffee and while their coffee is being made, the concept of fair trade and ethical consumerism will be explained to them along with the real life benefits of fair trade practices for the farmers in developing countries.  They will then be asked if they would like to pay this gift forward – passing on the knowledge and thus creating a positive domino effect!
