Backyard bee - Christchurch

Backyard bee – Christchurch

Wondrous Wednesday series. Thankyou Project author Melanie Mayell, based in Christchurch, shares her glimpses of gratitude.

“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.”
Rachel Carson, 1954.
A bee heads into a peach blossom in my backyard – its furry body rests catlike on the delicate petals for just a moment. Over its whole short life one bee will make less than a teaspoon of honey. Bees are a wondrous wonder to me.
