Bike the Trail returns this Sunday in Hutt Valley

Bike the Trail returns this Sunday

After having to postpone the original event during March’s “weather bomb”, Hutt Valley’s largest cycling event, Bike the Trail, will be making a return this Sunday.

The event, which takes place along the Hutt River Trail, has a choice of two distances – the longer 25km version starting at Harcourt Park in Upper Hutt, or the shorter 12km option from Stokes Valley. As both options provide a flat, scenic, non-competitive bike ride suitable for all ages and capabilities, this free event is the most popular cycling event in Lower Hutt.

Starting at 12pm, cyclists finish at Hikoikoi Reserve in Petone, where a free BBQ is provided, along with live music, spot prizes, vouchers from Avanti Plus Lower Hutt and other giveaways.

Free transport is also provided for both bikes and their riders back to the start points.

While the event is free for all, pre-registration is encouraged for indication of numbers. Register online at www.bikethetrail.co.nz<http://www.bikethetrail.co.nz/>.

Bike the Trail is proudly presented by Hutt City Council, Activation and Greater Wellington.
