MAKE IT YOUR OWN
Get crafty at the Palmerston North Craft & Quilt Fair 2013

There’s no hiding the fact that we live in a busy world, and so often mass-produced items become the norm. But this year, the Craft & Quilt Fair wants Kiwis to get up, get crafting, and make their environment their own.

Why buy what everyone else has, when you can have fun making your own original designs?
Crafting doesn’t have to be difficult, but you can guarantee that you’ll end up with beautiful, hand-made products that directly reflect who you are.

You could settle for a bland store-bought bed covering, you could splash out and spend your savings on a gorgeous hand-made design – OR you could come along to the Craft & Quilt Fair and learn to make your own. It will be cost-effective, and you can tailor it to exactly what you want. How about a cosy modern quilt made in the exact pinks and purples to match your
daughter’s bedroom? Or a piece of jewellery, made at the right price and style to suit you?

The possibilities are literally endless when it comes to arts and crafts – and the Craft & Quilt Fair will give you hundreds of ideas beyond the ‘potato stamps’ that you thought craft was all about. There are over 45 classes daily where you can learn cardmaking, scrapbooking, stamping, quilting, machine embroidery, jewellery making, textile art techniques and more, all from the experts.

Be inspired by the displays including an international quilt display, and ‘Flight’ – a special exhibition by the Professional Weavers Network. Or visit Jane Davenport, one of Australia’s most successful, award-winning artists who’ll be demonstrating drawing and mixed media techniques. You can also join workshops to learn new tips and tricks for crafting; or stock up on the best and latest in craft supplies from specialty retailers from all over New Zealand and Australia. Whatever you need, Australasia’s number one craft show is your one-stop shop.

So don’t settle for anything less than the best – come along to the Craft & Quilt Fair to immerse yourself in traditional crafts, and those with a modern twist! It may be the inspiration you need to create something really special – and you can win prizes valued at over $2980 just by visiting.
