When knowing your truth pays off

Charlotte Squire at Onekaka Beach, Golden Bay - smallHave you ever taken a stand on something?  Have you ever really put yourself ‘out there’ because you feel absolutely certain about something, despite others around you expressing doubt?  These times in our lives, this ability to remain in touch with that inner spark of truth or desire, can seriously pay off.

Happyzine holds that for me.  I’m continuously reminded of the power of focusing upon the positive in my own life.  It has paid dividends for me to spend time day-dreaming about what could be in my ideal universe, because the dreams that I most deeply and intimately know, beyond the intellectual and into the depths of my heart, become my life.

Sweden’s stand on fossil fuels has paid off for them.  They’ve ‘weaned’ themselves completely off fossil fuels and they’ve also (get this) run out of rubbish because they’re using it all to generate power.  How inspiring is that?  Just think of the determined, long term effort it would have taken to to achieve such a result.  Imagine if New Zealand stuck to such a drastic commitment.  Actually I remember a certain goal to become organic in Aotearoa by 2020 … hmmm.  We still have seven years to go!

The most crucial part of taking a stand is to deeply know it as your truth.  I’m talking deep in the heart and truly in your soul.  In that place of quiet truth that every single one of us has.  To take the time to inquire inside is crucial.  It’s best to clarify and understand how important this stand of yours really is, from the beginning.  Once you’ve found that place, you’ll have the strength of the gods.

Regardless how clear you are about your truth, life has this interesting way of reflecting it back at you.
