‘Eats In the Bay’ team start the eat local challenge

They are Kiwis eating food grown and produced within a 200 km radius for 30 days of April in the Happyzine Eat Local Challenge.

Local, fresh, organic, simple….that is my food philosophy. So when I heard about the local food challenge as part of the re launch of Happyzine, I signed not only myself, but my whole family up right away. The idea is simple, to eat local food, sourced from a 200km distance from where you live.

We’re allowed one food sourced out of the 200km area, my item of choice is Organic Spelt flour, because we bake our own bread, spelt flour was a an easy decision. Ill be posting my progress, frustrations (no homemade almond milk), and recipes throughout the month, I hope you join me on this mission, even little changes to you life style make a difference, by NZ made food products, NZ grown produce etc….
