Elixa Vitae

Ok if there as ever a great reason to join Club Happyzine – this is it!

I interviewed Golden Bay herbalist and owner of Arohanui Botanicals Emily Van Oosterom a while back for the Nelson Mail and was very inspired by the fact that she uses rongoa Maori, native medicinal plants, in her herbal skin care range.

“It had been years since I’d been able to use off-the-shelf creams. I started making myself little mixtures, and based on my herbal knowledge, I put in some herbal extracts. I made really clean recipes with no synthetic ingredients – organic oils.”

And for those of you who need it (ahem, I must admit I am slightly pleased) Emily is giving away two bottles of Elixir Vitae – which is, among other things, an anti-aging serum.

Here’s all you need to know about Elixir Vitae:

Active botanicals including sea buckthorn, black currant and pomegranate provide antioxidant and anti-ageing magic to help turn back the clock.

On its own or added to your daily moisturiser, it is an essential addition to your routine.

Ingredients: Helianthus anuum (sunflower) oil*, Prunus amygdalus (sweet almond) oil*, Rubus idaeus (raspberry) seed oil**, Rubes nigrum (blackcurrant) seed oil (CO2 extracted), Punica grantum (pomegranate) seed oil**, Rosa canina (rosehip) seed oil*, Hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) fruit oil* (CO2 extracted), Limnathes alba (meadowfoam) oil.

(*Certified Organic, **Cold Pressed Natural)

We have two bottles of this gorgeous, nourishing oil to give away to members of Club Happyzine.  Just in case you didn’t know – Club Happyzine is one of the key ways Happyzine.co.nz  is able to pump out inspiration, Kiwi flavoured, to the world.  Pay what you can afford.  Win free stuff and experiences.  Share the love.

Was putting some Arohanui Gardener’s cream on my rough hands when I started reading this! It’s lovely stuff and feels great. Lasts a while before I notice my hands are dry again. I keep it by my daytime chair for instant use. Thanks Emily. :)
