Denmark is leading the world with wind technology and is a great country for New Zealand to look to for inspiration as we move towards a fossil fuel free world.

Denmark is working steadily towards becoming 100 per cent fossil fuel free by 2050.  Today, more than 40 per cent of Denmark’s energy supply comes from wind power, more than anywhere else in the world.  The plan is to reach 50 per cent by 2020, as set out in the 2012 Energy Act.

The country’s journey with wind technology began back in 1973 during the oil crisis.
